Gale is a Southern Californian who has lived in San Diego for 20 years. She is originally from the San Fernando Valley just west of Los Angeles. She came to San Diego to attend college in 1985 not knowing what she was going to study. She just knew she loved art! She figured she would take art classes as electives- because “at least I knew I would enjoy those classes”. Always concerned she would end up drawing caricatures for $5 a piece on Venice Beach, she had no idea what majoring in art could mean... The next thing she knew, she had enough classes for a minor in art and realized what she wanted to study!!! She continued taking art classes and realized what she would major in.
Gale received her Bachelors in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Fashion Merchandising in 1989 from San Diego State University. While studying art she worked in the cosmetic industry “doing her art on a totally different type of canvas- a face!” ( www.Make-Up-Artistry.com).
Gale’s passion her whole life has been art- in every way imaginable. As a child she took private drawing and painting classes absorbing everything she could. Through the years she has enjoyed countless of hours drawing, painting, working with arts & crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, molding clay, making pillows, refinishing furniture and decorating rooms. This is a part of Gale that is ingrained in her being. Always thinking up ways to spend her time while being creative and imaginative.
About 5 1/2 years ago Gale’s mural business sprang up almost by accident. She was trying to decide how to decorate her soon to be baby’s room. After deciding on an animal theme, she started painting the walls little by little. A tree here; a giraffe there. All of a sudden she had a room full of animals and a ceiling filled with clouds and a colorful bird!!! The next thing she new her business was born. People would come to her home and see her son’s bedroom. They would hire her to do their children’s rooms. Their friend’s would see those rooms and the rest is- as they say- history!
...All she needs to know is a little bit of your thoughts, wants and needs along with her imagination and creativity and the sky’s the limit!
